Error description

  • The Tivoli Storage Manager reporting and monitoring feature
    installer will prompt for a DB2 password. DB2 has some
    documented password requirements and it is possible that the
    OS has some as well. If the DB2 password requirements are
    not met, the install can fail. The DB2 requirements are
    documented here:
      http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/db2luw/v9/index.jsp?
      topic=/com.ibm.db2.udb.uprun.doc/doc/c0011027.htm
    If the problem is encountered and the install fails,
    DB2_ESE_InstallProduct_ log file will contain additional
    information. Here is an example of the filename (filename
    includes a timestamp) and the contents of the file:
      /opt/tivoli/tsm/reporting/_uninst/plan/tmp/
      DB2_ESE_InstallProduct_20090422_142011EDT.log
    DBI1191I db2setup is installing and configuring DB2
    according to the response file provided. Please wait.
    A Response file error occurred. The value "9charpass" is not
    valid for the keyword "DB2ITM.PASSWORD".
