Error description
The installation of the TSM 6.1 Server may fail with an error indicating that DB2 could not be installed due to a failed requirement for disk space. The contents of the DeploymentPlan.log file will confirm the DB2 installation failure: . Started: Deployment Step: step_00002_DB2_9.5 Machine Plan: MachinePlan_localhost . Failed: Deployment Step: step_00002_DB2_9.5 Machine Plan: MachinePlan_localhost . The DB2_9.5.log file will indicate that the 'Req_disk_space' requirement had failed: . <failures> <requirementFailure> <rootIUTypeID UUID="61CFAC749FF2F18762B8843C11A3F961" version="9.5"/> <requirementName>Req_disk_space</requirementName> </requirementFailure> </failures> . This failure should not be occurring as the COI (Composite Offering Installer) does not need to perform the disk space check when installing DB2. . TSM Versions Affected: TSM 6.1 . Local fix
1. cd to /<install_dir>/COI/DeploymentSteps/DB2_9.5/META-INF directory 2. Remove from the packagedIU.xml file the following entries: <requirement name="Req_disk_space"> <description> <defaultLineText key="ReqDesc_Req_disk_space"> Disk space required.</defaultLineText> </description> <alternative name="Alt_disk_space"> <inlineCheck> <consumption checkId="Check_disk_space" targetRef="FS"> <description> <defaultLineText key="CheckDesc_Check_disk_space"> Check if disk space of 550 MB is available. </defaultLineText> </description> <propertyName>availableSpace</propertyName> <value>563200</value> </consumption> </inlineCheck> </alternative> </requirement> 3. Save the packagedIU.xml file and retry the installation
