Error description

  • If a file with ACLs is being migrated with compression using
    6.1.0.0 TSM Server and 6.1.0.0 HSM Client, recall either hangs
    or fails.
    Files that were migrated with older Client or Server versions
    can be recalled.

Local fix

  • Do not use compression for files with ACLs, or do not use
    6.1.0.0 TSM Server and 6.1.0.0 HSM Client together until this is
    fixed. Use a 5.5 Server or 5.5 Client version.
    Note that is not possible to downgrade to the 5.5 Client for
    filesystems that were added to storage management with the 6.1
    Client. Filesystems that were managed with 5.5 already, work
    without problems after downgraded from 6.1.

    *                 this information is subject to change at     *
    *                 the discretion of IBM.                       *

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been fixed so that it no longer occurs.
    

Temporary fix

  • An interim fix for the TSM client portion of this problem is
    currently targeted for level 6.1.0.2. Note that until the
    interim fix is available, this information is subject to change
    at the discretion of IBM. Application of the client interim fix
    and TSM server level 6.1.1 are required in order to fix the
    problem described in this APAR.
