  With a German installation of Host On-Demand on a Red Hat Linux
  Enterprise 4 system and accessing HODAdmin_de.html with
  Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 from a client machine, the page
  fails to load.  A javascript file is referenced as a potential
  problem source referring to an Unterminated String Constant in
  HODPanels_de.js.
  The behavior does not occur with any other browser other than
  Internet Explorer 6.
  A code change was made to display some of the German characters
  as the symbolic rendering to allow them to be translated and
  displayed correctly.

Local fix

• Manually edit the HODPanels_de.js file so that some of the
  umlaut characters are reperesented in the code with their
  symbolic representation.

  The German Host On-Demand Administration Utility installed on a
  Red Hat Linux server does not load on some desktops when using
  Internet Explorer 6.  The umlaut character in the German
  language was not being properly rendered by Internet Explorer 6
  in certain situations.
  When the page, HODAdmin_de.html, is accessed, the download
  begins, but javascript errors result and the connection to the
  server does not complete.
  This is being investigated by Microsoft as well.
  

Problem conclusion

• The umlaut characters have been replaced by their corresponding
  key codes which make it work with all browsers rendering them
  correctly, in turn helping the loading of the html pages with
  German language.
