HE12364: IBM Content Collector failed to index email documents containing one or multiple large embedded MSG files

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• f a MSG file contains an embedded MSG file, IBM Content
  Collector will not extract the embedded MSG file from the
  original email document, but store it as a whole in the
  backend repository. When IBM Content Collector P8 Content
  Search Services Support handles this kind of document, it
  will be passed to the parser as one message,
  the parser needs to create the MSG file structure for the
  embedded MSG file, and there is a performance issue
  handling large embedded files. In particular when many such
  documents need to be indexed, the indexing process will be
  very slow.
  

Local fix

• In IBM Content Collector 4.0.1.0 LA014, if option
  *MsgMaxEmailSizeInMB was enabled, and a MSG file contains
  an embedded MSG file, in the meanwhile, the whole MSG file
  size exceeds the value of *MsgMaxEmailSizeInMB, IBM
  Content Collector will not index the MSG properties,
  content and attachment. Instead, an error code string
  "IQQP0013E" is added to the document and indexed, so users
  can search for the skipped documents later by this string.

• In IBM Content Collector 4.0.1.2, if option *MsgMaxEmailSizeInMB
   was enabled, and a MSG file contains an embedded MSG file, in
  the meanwhile,the whole MSG file size exceeds the value of
  *MsgMaxEmailSizeInMB, IBM Content Collector will not index the
  MSG properties, content and attachment. Instead, an error code
  string "IQQP0013E" is added to the document and indexed, so
  users can search for the skipped documents later by this string.
  Using this fix, the skipped MSG files by IBM Content Collector
  4.0.1.2 can be indexed correctly. Users can search out the MSG
  files by key string "IQQP0013E" first, then submit the files to
  index again, after that, all the MSG files will be indexed
  correctly this time including the MSG properties, content and
  attachment.
  

Temporary fix

• Fixed in 4.0.1.2-IBM-ICC-FP002
