When there are no search templates configured on an eDiscovery Manager (eDM) system, the LDAP "Test Connection" fails even when you provide the correct information in the "LDAP Configuration" page.
Create a search template and you will be able to validate the LDAP configuration.
On the LDAP Configuration pane of the Administration page of the eDiscovery Manager web client, an error occurs when users attempt to create LDAP configurations before search templates are created. The error occurs after entering all values on the LDAP Configuration pane and clicking the "Test Connection" button. This error does not occur after a search template is created and saved.
A search session is required for the LDAP connection test to be successful. However, a search session was only created after a search template was created. To fix this, a search session is now created during LDAP connection testing if a session does not already exist.
