versa. Error message in this case: <Installation directory>
    must be empty
    4. Start a CATIA session with the generated CATIA environment
file (of step 1), e.g. (in one line):
    <Code_inst_dir>\intel_a\code\bin\CATSTART.exe -env
    CATIA_P3.V5R20.B20 -direnv <CATEnv_dir> -run "CNEXT"
    5. In the CATIA session declare both documentation
directories of step 3 in TOOLS / OPTIONS / GENERAL / HELP /
TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION / LOCATION and then confirm this with
    button OK.
    6. In the CATIA session press key F1 or menu HELP / CATIA V5
    help
==> Only the CATIA V5 documentation appears in the web
    browser (ERROR)
Expected result: The customer expects to be able to read and

    7. In the CATIA session remove the CATIA documentation from
the declaration (see step 5), leaving only the ENOVIA V5 VPM
    documentation declared.

    should appear.
    9. Exit the running CATIA session
    10. Start a new CATIA session with the generated ENOVIA V5
VPM environment file (of step 2), e.g. (in one line):

    ENOVIA_V5_VPM.V5R20.B20 -direnv <CATEnv_dir> -run "CNEXT"
    11. In the CATIA session declare both documentation
directories of step 3 in TOOLS / OPTIONS / GENERAL / HELP /
TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION / LOCATION and then confirm this with

    browser
    (ERROR)
And the ENOVIA V5 VPM documentation appears without header
and without left navigation bar (ERROR)
    See the screenshot
    "Negative_result_for_V5_VPM_docu_with_V5_VPM_env_file.JPG"
Expected result: The customer expects to be able to read and
    search
both the CATIA and the ENOVIA V5 VPM documentation
And the header and the left navigation bar should appear for
    the ENOVIA V5 VPM documentation
    13. In the CATIA session remove the ENOVIA V5 VPM
documentation from the declaration (see step 11), leaving
    only the CATIA documentation declared.
    14. In the CATIA session press key F1 or menu HELP / CATIA V5

Problem conclusion

  • THIS PROBLEM IS PERMANENT RESTRICTION.
    Additional Closure Information:
    Incident Diagnosis:
Only one documentation media is available at the same time.
    Reason:
There is no common file between two different documentation
    media. CATIA documentation frame
files (top and left parts), mapping tables and topic files
are different from ENOVIA V5 VPM
documentation frame, mapping tables (except for the
    CommonId2url.CATNls mapping table which
contains links to topics available in only one documentation
media) and topic files. When you
start CATIA application, you are in a specific environment
(CATIA OR ENOVIA V5 VPM in your
case), and this environment defines which documentation frame
    files (online\CATIAAfr_C2\... OR
    online\lcafr_L2\...) and mapping tables
    (resources\msgcatalog\CATIA_P3Id2url.CATNls OR
    resources\msgcatalog\ENOVIA_V5_VPMId2url.CATNls) will be
accessed from the root defined in
Tools>Options to build the HTML page associated with the
    current command.
    By-Pass:
It is possible to access topic files from both CATIA_P3 and
    ENOVIA_V5_VPM documentation media
    by copying CATIA_P3Id2url.CATNls and
    ENOVIA_V5_VPMId2url.CATNls in CommonId2url.CATNls.
However, for topics available in both documentation media,
only the first topic file found in
the common mapping table will be found (however most of time
the content of topic files should
be the same so it's not a big problem).
Another point is that for topics that are not in the
    documentation media defined in the
environment file, the frame files will not be found and then
will remain blank (as in your
    tests).
