HD12345: When meshing, a twisted rectangular element is created

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • 1. Open .CATPart.
2. Change "Advanced Meshing Tools" workbench.
=> "New Analysis Case" window appears.
3. Select "Static Analysis", and select "OK" button.
4. Select "Surface Mesher" icon, and select the
surface.
=> "Global Parameters" window appears.
5. Set parameters and click OK.
6. Select "Add/Remove Constraints" icon.
7. Select "Curves" tab, and select the edges.
8. Select "OK" button.
9. Select "Mesh The Part" icon.
=>The mesh is twisted.
And it is difficult to modify mesh in order to fix it.

level.
Incident Diagnosis
Two bad elements are generated because of the
domain topology invalid for the mesh size value
( the domain is not closed!!)
The twist is grenerated by the optimization.
Correction Explanation
Invalid quality check on the 1D node
Answer and By-Pass
Valid quality check, no twisted elements anymore.
But the 2 elements REMAIN BAD because there
has been a wrong user specification.
