Error description

  • CICS Terminal hung in state "being released". Dump/trace shows
a session-related RPL was not posted by VTAM.
Trace showed that VTAM was about to drive an RPL exit for a
session-related RPL (SEND RECEIVE) - when a program check
occurred for a CICS transaction problem. This caused a x'FF'
cancel code to be set by VSE (ABEXIT / ESTAEX active).
Module ISTAICRX was not driving RPL exits when this cancel
code was set.

This problem may be described as follows:
  1. CICS transaction program received the program check for
     some reason.
  2. ISTAICRX received control while VSE/CICS ESTAEX was
     processing the program check. It did not drive a SEND or
     RECEIVE exit while this processing was in progress.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • ISTAICRX has been changed to continue processing the CRPL if VSE
or the application ESTAEX is processing an application program
check which is indicated by VSE cancel code X'FF'.
