IBM® Tape Device Drivers for System Storage
Download Description
The IBM Tape Device Drivers for System Storage are responsible for assisting in host application to tape device communication. The tape drivers work with IBM System Storage Tape Products in providing basic and advanced tape functionality for backup/restore and archive environments.
IBM Tape Diagnostic Tool (ITDT) provides the customer with functionality to perform maintenance tasks and run diagnostic tasks to determine tape device issues.
Supported Operating Systems
The tape drivers are developed to support AIX®, HP-UX®, Linux®, Solaris®, and Windows®. For details on supported tape attachment please refer to the System Storage Interoperation Center website.

Tape Device Drivers are available to download at IBM's new Fix Central web site. This link will take you to the position in Fix Central where you determine which platform driver is to be downloaded.

Select the platform needed and press continue.
On the next page will be listed all the drivers available on that platform and some archived items. Usually the most current driver will be listed at the top of the list. In the name of the download the version number will be listed. There is also library code for the 3494 available as well as some older versions that will all be under the archive download package. Links to the publications as well as the ability to download the IBM Tape Diagnostic Tool will also be available at the same site.
