SAN Volume Controller and Storwize systems running V6.x or V7.x do not support the use of intrasystem Global Mirror.
An intrasystem Global Mirror relationship is defined as having both source and target volumes in the same system. Any intrasystem Global Mirror relationships on systems running V6.x or V7.x may result in those relationships experiencing link tolerance (1920) error events, causing replication operations to be stopped.
This restriction does not affect intersystem Global Mirror configurations, where the source and target volumes are on different systems. Intersystem Global Mirror functionality is fully supported on V6.x and V7.x.
This restriction also does not affect intrasystem or intersystem Metro Mirror configurations, which are also fully supported on V6.x and V7.x
This restriction may be lifted in a future software release.
