SAN Volume Controller, Storwize V7000, IBM Flex System V7000, and Storwize V7000 Unified systems running V6.x or V7.x do not support the use of intra-cluster Global Mirror functionality.
An intra-cluster Global Mirror relationship is defined as having both source and target Volumes in the same SAN Volume Controller, Storwize V7000, IBM Flex System V7000, or Storwize V7000 Unified system. Any intra-cluster Global Mirror relationships on systems running V6.x or V7.x may result in these relationships experiencing frequent occurrences of link tolerance (1920) events, causing replication operations to be stopped.
This does not affect inter-cluster Global Mirror configurations, involving source and target Volumes on different SAN Volume Controller, Storwize V7000, IBM Flex System V7000, or Storwize V7000 Unified systems. Inter-cluster Global Mirror functionality is fully supported on V6.x and V7.x.
This does not affect intra-cluster Metro Mirror configurations, which are also fully supported on V6.x and V7.x
This restriction may be lifted in a future software release.
