Power and Cooling Requirements for the IBM Storwize V7000

Preventive Service Planning

Abstract

The following document outlines power and cooling requirements for the IBM Storwize V7000.

Content

To aid in power and cooling requirements planning for the Storwize V7000, the following table lists the rating of each power supply unit (PSU) used in the different models of enclosure. The Storwize V7000 models 2076-124, 2076-324 and the 2076-112, 2076-312 use two of the 764W PSUs. The Storwize V7000 models 2076-224 and 2076-212 use two of the 580W PSUs. The Storwize V7000 model 2076-524 uses two of the 1200W PSUs. The Storwize V7000 models 2076-24F and 2076-12F use two of the 800W PSUs.

The power and thermal measurements shown below were obtained in the specific operating environment and under the conditions described below and are presented as an illustration. Measurements obtained in other operating environments may vary and customers should conduct their own testing.
The power consumption of an enclosure can be read directly using lsenclosurestats command.

The following measurements were taken whilst using the Storwize V7000 at between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius ambient with a typical workload.
