SAN Volume Controller 2145-CF8 Node Solid-State Drives Must be Unmanaged Before Upgrading to V6.1.0.x
SAN Volume Controller 2145-CF8 nodes using internal solid-state drives (SSDs) are currently unsupported with V6.1.0.x code.
V6.1.0.x code does not currently support 2145-CF8 nodes using internal SSDs.
When upgrading to V6.1.0.x, all internal SSDs must be in an unmanaged state before the software upgrade is started. This will require a sufficient amount of external storage to be available, on which to migrate any Volumes (VDisks) currently using internal SSD storage.
Please refer to the V5.1.0 Software Installation and Configuration Guide for details of how to migrate data from internal SSDs and transition the SSDs into an unmanaged state.
Please refer to the What's new in the IBM System Storage SAN Volume Controller Information Center for more information on SVC Terminology changes.
