The following products and functions were supported on prior IBM i releases but will not be in the future.  Plans should be made to replace or discontinue use of these products and functions.

Software Suggested replacement(s)
IBM Navigator for i Due to changes in how browsers handle self-signed certificates, IBM Navigator for i will no longer be shipped with SSL enabled by default.  Users can configure SSL using the following instructions: http://ibm.co/2f1vzYU.  In addition, any saved URL's for IBM Navigator for i will not work by default because we are now using HTTP and port 2004 instead of HTTPS and port 2005. 
5770-JV1 IBM Developer Kit for Java, Options 11 & 12 Upgrade to newer Java level using Option 16 or higher of IBM Developer Kit for Java.

    Option 16, Java SE 8 32 bit

Support for IBM Java SE 6.0/6.2.6 (5770JV1 Option 11 and 12) will be discontinued on April 2018.  After this date, no additional fixes or PTFs will be produced for the 5770JV1 Options 11 and 12.

Support for the 5770-JV1 Option 11 and 12 will be provided on best effort basis only.

5770-SS1  Option 29 Integrated Server Support IBM i 7.3 is the final release IBM i Option 29 Integrated Server Support will be included.  There are no plans to support Option 29 with IBM i 7.3.  Replacement:  As a storage alternative, leverage a Storwize V3700 or V7000 SAN via iSCSI or fiber channel attachment.  Refer to http://www.ibm.com/systems/power/software/i/integratedserver/
5799-PTL IBM Tools for Developers for IBM i PRPQ IBM will withdraw the IBM Tools for Developers for IBM i PRPQ (5799-PTL). It will no longer be available after December 31, 2016. IBM Tools for Developers for IBM i PRPQ included a VNC server, perl, and a handful of tools to aid in development, building, and porting of IBM i applications. Suggested replacements can be acquired with 5733-OPS Option3 (PTF SI58604). Those using VNC server can use the GCC tools in 5733-OPS option 3 to build the latest version. Alternatively, X11 forwarding can be used to forward display data to a remote workstation.
5770-XE1 IBM i Access for Windows Effective April 30, 2019, IBM will withdraw support for IBM i Access for Windows (5770-XE1). Replacement product is IBM i Access Client Solutions (5733-XJ1). Refer to IBM i Access Client Solutions  for more information.
