IBM i Access Version of the AFP Printer Driver

The IBM i Access version of the AFP printer driver can be downloaded from the System i Access FTP site:

ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/afpprinter/

Windows OS System i Access FTP Site
32-bit versions of Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/afpprinter/win32/
64-bit versions of Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 running on AMD or Intel Xeon processors ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/afpprinter/amd64/
64-bit versions of Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 running on Intel Itanium processors ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/afpprinter/ia64/

Each of these FTP directories contains at least one sub-directory for the version (such as "ver030102"). Each of those subdirectories has a zip file containing the printer driver (such as win32.zip, amd64.zip or ia64.zip) and a readme.txt file that containing instructions for installing the AFP printer driver.

Notes:
o The IBM i Access for Windows version of the AFP printer driver includes a cwbaffax.zip file which adds support for using the AFP printer driver with Facsimile Support/400 (FAX/400) and Enhanced Services.
o The IBM i Access for Windows version of the AFP printer driver does not install on PCs running Microsoft Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 because this version of the driver is not digitally signed. If the AFP printer driver is needed on a Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 PC, then the Ricoh Production Print Solutions AFP Printer Driver for Windows should be installed instead.

Installing the IBM AFP Driver for the First Time

1. In the Windows control panel, select the Printers icon.

3. When prompted for a driver, select Have Disk, and choose the directory C:\AFP Driver. Select the cwbafp.inf file, and OK. Select the driver that you want to use. If you are not sure which one to use, select Generic Infoprint 300 dpi AFP because that is compatible with the widest range of printers.

Upgrading an Existing IBM AFP Driver
