CPF2105 on *IBM SP Objects Prevents Profile Deletion

Users may occasionally be unable to delete a particular user profile because the profile owns one or more objects having a type of *IBM SP. This causes a CPF2105 Object xxxxxx in QPFR type *SP not found. These internal space objects (type 19, subtype 00 - hexadecimal).

These internal space objects are being created when creating performance collections reports. If the jobs creating these reports get terminated abnormally, the internal space objects do not get cleaned up properly. The following commands have been known to encounter this:

PRTCPTRPT and PRTSYSRPT- creates SELExxxxxx objects of type *SP in QGPL. Also can create *SP objects named after the workstation it was running from, or PRTSYSRPT* in QPFR.
DLTPFRCOL and SAVPFRCOL - creates DLTExxxxxx objects of type *SP. Objects can exist in QPFR and QUSRSYS.

Note: SELExxxxxx and DLTExxxxxx, the xxxxxx represents a timestamp.

If the objects exist in library QPFR, you can delete these by doing one of the following:

Option 1:
o Save the QPFR library.
o Clear the QPFR library, CLRLIB LIB(QPFR)
o Delete the profile that owned these *SP objects
o Restore the QPFR library. The *SP objects will not be restored since the owning profile has been removed.

Option 2:
o Remove the *SP objects by using the RMVLNK command: RMVLNK OBJLNK('/QSYS.LIB/QPFR.LIB/PRT*.SP')
Note: You must specify the '.SP' to the end of the OBJLNK to only delete the *SP objects.

Option 2 is the recommended option to delete the other *SP objects in QGPL and QUSRSYS. You can change the RMVLNK command to point to these libraries and the correct prefix for the object names.
