Restoring Missing Exit Points and Exit Programs

When the QMSF exit points are missing, it can indicate that a problem occurred with installing QUSRSYS.
This problem is described by Information APARs II09973 and II11188. It is likely that an earlier version of
QUSRSYS was applied over a more current version. Also, the exit points might have been removed or
deleted. This can be done manually or by the system.

If necessary, all of the OS/400 missing exit points can be restored. Once an exit program entry is
missing, use one of the following options to get it back:

1) Restore the latest copy of QUSEXRGOBJ from backup tapes.

Note: This option assumes that backups are done fairly often. If there has been a lot
of time between the last save and when you need to restore the object you could be losing
exit information that has been user defined and manually entered.

2) At the IBM OS/400 command line type the following command:

Call QSYS/QUSRGFIN

Press the Enter key.

QUSRGFIN was changed to accommodate a two-part installation scenario for the registration facility.
The exit points are installed during the QSYS installation.
The exit program entries are installed as part of the QUSRSYS installation.
Each installation requires a slightly different parameter set.

You may use the command QUSRGFIN with the below parameters to get the base operating system exit
program entries back:

CALL QSYS/QUSRGFIN PARM('12345678QUSRSYS  ')

Note: Ensure that you have two blanks after QUSRSYS. You can put whatever you want for
the first 8 characters because QUSRGFIN does not use that information.
