Problem

This document discusses the MTU for a Virtual IP address.

Resolving The Problem


A Virtual IP address (VIPA) that is defined on the System i will show as having a Maximum Transmission
Unit (MTU) of 576. The MTU that is used when communicating with the VIPA will be that of the physical line
description that is used to communicate with the VIPA.

To view the MTU on the line, use the DSPLIND LIND(LINENAME) command.
