Problem

This document explain reason for message CPDA97C.

Resolving The Problem

During the preparation step, message CPDA97C can be logged indicating that 5722UME is required for 5761SS1 opt3.

This can occur if the customer is using R610 upgrade media created after 10/29/2010. As indicated by Rochester Support Center knowledgebase document New, IBM i 5770-UME Considerations N1012366, product 5722UME is replaced with 5770UME on media created on or after 10/29/2010.

At R540 and R610, message CPDA97C can be prevented by installing the following upgrade PTF or a supersede. This error will still be logged at R530.

V5R4 - SI35440
V6R1 - SI35438

For all of these releases, this error can be ignored and no additional steps should be required to resolve this issue. Selecting F12 on the CPDA97C message will still create the preparation list. The 5770UME product will be installed during the upgrade to R610. CPDA97C is only an upgrade preparation error. If 5770UME is not installed as part of the upgrade, RSTLICPGM LICPGM(5770UME) DEV(OPTXX) OPTION(*BASE) can be used to restore this product. It will be found on the B2924_02 R610 installation media.
