Resolving The Problem
This document provides information on the console being allocated to subsystem QINTER.
Sometimes the Console is allocated to QCTL and sometimes it is allocated to subsystem QINTER.
You should issue the command DSPSBSD (QINTER), and select Option 4.
If any workstation name entries like the following are present, you should select Option 5 next to them and look at the field Control job at. If the field has been set to *SIGNON, QINTER will attempt to allocate the console:
D*
DS*
DSP*
DSP0*
DSP01
You should issue the RMVWSE command to remove any entry that starts with D*, DS*, DSP* or DSP01.
QINTER already includes a Workstation Type entry for *CONS that is set to *ENTER preventing the console as defined on your QCONSOLE system value to be allocated by the subsystem.
