APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-------------------------------------------------
BRMS restore of data from any parallel-parallel or
serial-parallel type volume set that spans multiple volumes
fails:
MSGCPF387C Device resources not available.
Media definition Q1AMEDDFN1 in library QTEMP requires a minimum
of 6 parallel device resources.
Symptoms found by other customers:

MSGCPF3780
MSGCPA6798

CORRECTION FOR APAR 'SE64760' :
-------------------------------
The problem is on the save side that is causing the restore
problem. This fix will only stop parallel backups from creating
bad saved items that can't be restored from the point of ptf
apply. Old bad saved items will not be effected and will
continue to not work on restores. If your saved item was saved
prior to March 8th 2016, this does not apply.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI57980:
================================================

Note: When loading BRMS PTFs, the system needs to be out of
FlashCopy mode for the PTF to apply.
To verify the FlashCopy status of a system is *END, enter the
following command:
CALL PGM(QBRM/Q1AOLD) PARM('FLSSYSSTS ' '*DISPLAY')

After the BRMS PTF is installed, do the following to enable the
BRMS plug-in for the IBM Systems Director Navigator for i5/OS
(web browser) or System i Navigator windows client.

Enable the BRMS plug-in for the IBM Systems Director Navigator
for i5/OS.
==== V6R1 and newer only:
Note:  ending the http admin servers may affect other non-BRMS
users.
From System i:
1. Enter the command to end the http admin servers:
ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(*ADMIN)
2. Wait for the http admin server jobs to end or terminate
them.
Use command:  WRKACTJOB SBS(QHTTPSVR)
3. Restart the http admin servers:
STRTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(*ADMIN)

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI57214:
================================================

All BRMS activity must be stopped while this ptf is

being applied and users must signoff and on again

before using BRMS after the ptf is applied.
