APAR Error Description / Circumvention
-----------------------------------------------
Users get MSGCPF2450 (Work station message queue not allocated
to job) from program QMHCHMSQ when signing on or when using the
Change Message Queue (CHGMSGQ) command.
The error also produces MSGMCH3601 (Pointer not set) to program
QMHDSMSS or to program QMHWRMSS when using the Display Messages
(DSPMSG) command or the Work with Message Queues (WRKMSGQ)
command with a workstation message queue.
CORRECTION FOR APAR SE63668 :
-----------------------------
The code is changed so that the *NOTIFY function will now turn
on the message waiting indicator at the device without changing
the pointer to the device description that is stored in the work
station message queue. This prevents the pointer in the message
queue from being lost.
Code is also changed to tolerate a MSGMCH3601 to program
QMHALMSQ when trying to allocate a user message queue or
QSYSOPR.
The code for the Change Message Queue (CHGMSGQ) command is
changed to recover the pointer if it has been lost. This
provides one path that does automatic error recovery. In many
cases, this avoids the need to delete the device description and
create a new one. Other functions such as DSPMSG or WRKMSGQ are
not changed and will continue to produce errors until all
corrupted message queues have been recovered or replaced.
