APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
DSPMSGD for a message can fail with MSGMCH5601 with from and to
program of QMHDSMSD.

Message file QCPFMSG became corrupted when storage was lost due
to a system outage or a flash copy. Analysis indicates that the
problem most likely occurred following an Add Message
Description (ADDMSGD) command for the case where the message
already exists. Corruption was present for more than a year
before adding more messages caused existing messages to go bad.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE59436 :
-----------------------------
The code now writes changes to disk even if the command was not
completely successful. This is important when the size of the
message file is increased. The ADDMSGD code is also changed to
avoid increasing the size of the message file in the case where
the message already exists. Changes to the DSPMSGD code prevent
a bad message length from interfering with an unlock.
