APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-------------------------------------------------
System hangs due to multiprogramming level (MPL) deadlock.

CORRECTION FOR APAR 'MA45279' :
-------------------------------
A MPL class deadlock occurs when all MPL slots are held by
threads which are dependent on activity in another thread
to make forward progress, and where the activity in the other
thread is blocked waiting to become active in the MPL class.

In this instance, a defect in recursive MI long wait permitted
threads to long wait while active in MPL.  The scenario was
repeated until all MPL slots of the class were held in this
manner, and other threads that could act to satisfy the waits
where themselves blocked waiting to become active in the MPL
class.  The defective recursive MI wait scenario is fixed.
