APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
TCP/IP stops working some minutes after IPL. Console is working.
IP interfaces can not stop. This fail with TCP2670.

CORRECTION FOR APAR MA45149 :
-----------------------------
A race condition could lead to not releasing a reference to an
object. That then can cause a subsequent hang. This race
condition can occur when IPv6 packets are being received and may
be more likely if the service tools LAN adapter is shared with
the system TCP/IP stack and IPv6 is enabled on the service tools
adapter (the default).

The failure to release the reference under the race condition
has been corrected which will prevent the hang.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR MA45149 :
--------------------------------
If the service tools LAN adapter is shared with the system,
moving it to a separate adapter or disabling IPv6 on the service
tools adapter will reduce the likelihood of this hang.

To disable IPv6 on the service tools adapter, change parameter
"IP version allowed" in the Service Tools Lan Adapter
configuration from BOTH to IPV4, or use the OPSCONSOLE advanced
analysis macro with "CNFGLAN -ipver IPV4" parameters.
