APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
The forcing of journaled objects is not occurring as expected.
This causes journal sync points to become stale which can result
in multiple problems. These problems include bursts of I/O that
may degrade system performance and longer IPL and IASP vary ons
as more recovery must take place.

CORRECTION FOR APAR MA44775 :
-----------------------------
The use of Dynamic Platform Optimizer (DPO) or Dynamic Logical
Partitioning (DLPAR) can cause new processor nodes to be added
to a partition. JO-RECRA tasks are created for each processor
node in a partition and are used to force journaled objects. A
problem was uncovered where the JO-RECRA tasks were not created
correctly for the new nodes and therefore journaled objects were
not being force as expected.

This problem has been corrected and the performance and journal
sync point issues associated with it have been eliminated.

The fix will take effect after the next IPL.
