APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
Cannot APING or STRPASTHR or start a session to remote system
due to HPR route setup request and response being processed
incorrectly. An 07000AC4 vlog is generated.

CORRECTION FOR APAR MA44022 :
-----------------------------
The problem occurs when running HPR routing over native SNA
supported hardware controllers such as SNA Ethernet or Token
Ring. The HPR route setup request and response processing for
native SNA controllers has been corrected.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR MA44022 :
--------------------------------
Vary off the controller and change the parameter keyword, HPR
(APPN/HPR capable), to *NO.


Activation Instructions


None.




Special Instructions


1.- Vary off all *APPN controllers using:
WRKCFGSTS *CTL *APPC
Another option is to vary off all *APPN controllers using:
VRYCFG CFGOBJ(*APPN) CFGTYPE(*CTL) STATUS(*OFF)

2.- Close all USER type RTP sessions with command:
WRKAPPNSTS, option 2 "Work with RTP Connections".
Close all remaining RTP sessions with option 10.

3.- Install/Remove this PTF

4.- Proceed to vary controllers back on with:
WRKCFGSTS *CTL *APPC
or,
VRYCFG CFGOBJ(*APPN) CFGTYPE(*CTL) STATUS(*ON)
