Abstract
BRM-MAINT-INCORROUT FIXES - MARCH 2019
Error Description
Please load and apply the March 2019 PTF.
Problem Summary
It is important to keep all systems in a BRMS network at the
same level of BRMS PTFs.
Fixes included in this PTF may reference enhancements. More
information on these enhancements can be found on the BRMS web

Fixes in this PTF:
1. In 7.2 and later, BRMS backups using a virtual device
incorrectly unloads all image catalogs.
2. In 7.2 and later, BRMS backup job loops sending MSGBRM1017.
3. In 7.3 and later, BRMS GUI web reclaim media fails.
4. In 7.2 and later, BRMS GUI web incorrectly allows the
parallel type to be set for the All IBM data control group
entry.
5. In 7.2 and later, PRTRPTBRM TYPE(*CTLGRPSTAT) output file
information does not show device names that are less than 10
characters.
6. In 7.2 and later, DSPLOGBRM not reporting some MSGCPC37xx
completion messages and some completion messages may appear in
the wrong order in the job log.
7. In 7.2 and later, volumes with an expiration date in the year
2039 may get changed to *VER xx during BRMS maintenance.
8. In 7.2 and later, BRMS has enhanced the select user space
code to support cumulative/incremental *ALLUSR backups.
9. In 7.2 and later, WRKPCYBRM parameter changes are not saved
when paging up or down without hitting enter.
10. In 7.2 and later, DUPMEDBRM batch jobs are not using the
BRMS system policy values for Job description and Job queue for
the submit job.
11. In 7.2 and above, backup lists QCLDIPL *OBJ, QCLDIPL *LNK,
and QCLDOMTUSR *LNK are incorrectly created when LPP 5733ICC is
not installed.
12. In 7.2 and above, BRMS has added the Change Control Group
Attributes (Q1ACHGCGA) API for changing the control group media
policy and device attributes.
Problem Conclusion
Load and apply this PTF.
Note: When loading BRMS PTFs, the system needs to be out of
FlashCopy mode for the PTF to apply.
To verify the FlashCopy status of a system is *END, enter the
following command:
CALL PGM(QBRM/Q1AOLD) PARM('FLSSYSSTS ' '*DISPLAY')
After the BRMS PTF is installed, do the following to enable the
BRMS plug-in for the IBM Systems Director Navigator for i5/OS
(web browser) or System i Navigator windows client.
Enable the BRMS plug-in for the IBM Systems Director Navigator
for i5/OS.
Note: ending the http admin servers may affect other non-BRMS
users.
From System i:
1. Enter the command to end the http admin servers:
ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(*ADMIN)
2. Wait for the http admin server jobs to end or terminate
them.
Use command: WRKACTJOB SBS(QHTTPSVR)
3. Restart the http admin servers:
STRTCPSVR SERVER(*HTTP) HTTPSVR(*ADMIN)

Enable the BRMS plug-in for System i Navigator Windows/OS
client.
1) Close the System i Navigator application.
2) Open a Windows Command Prompt screen.
3) Enter the following command:
cwbinplg /REMOVE=IBM.BRMSPlugin
4) On the client/PC, start the iSeries Navigator.
5) Use the System i Navigator "Install Options->Install
Plug-in"
action. This action is available from the main System i
Navigator "File" menu and the "My Connections" folder
context/pop-up menu. When prompted for the iSeries system
to install from, select the iSeries that has the new BRMS
PTF installed.
