Abstract

OSP-DB-OTHER-UNPRED RGZPFM - BLOB - EMPTY POINTER - ZERO LENGTH

Error Description

When doing a RGZPFM with the option ALWCANCEL(*YES), it might  
happen, that some BLOB fields get zeroed out. (The length      
become 0, Zero)                                                

Problem Summary

* USERS AFFECTED: All IBM i operating system RGZPFM            *
*                 ALWCANCEL(*YES) users.                       *

* RECOMMENDATION: Apply PTF SI57522 for i 7.1.                 *
*                 Apply PTF SI57523 for i 7.2.                 *
****************************************************************
When doing a RGZPFM with the option ALWCANCEL(*YES), it might  
happen, that some BLOB fields get zeroed out. (The length become
0, Zero)                                                        

Problem Conclusion

In some circumstances, the final phase of ALWCANCEL(*YES) RGZPFM
could cause non-null and non-zero LOB data to be zeroed. The    
final phase has been corrected.
