Logically removing a virtual Fibre Channel adapter from an IBM i
partition while it is running, such as by using Dynamic
Partitioning on an HMC to remove the adapter from the partition
configuration or by using the RLSASPIO command with the *HARD
option, will result in a VL4E000009 LIC log entry containing a
program stack showing an exception occurred in module
VioVfcClientScsiRequest in routine
__dt__23VioVfcClientScsiRequestFv. The remove operation will
fail, but the virtual Fibre Channel adapter will remain
nonoperational until the partition is reipled.

Problem Conclusion

The virtual Fibre Channel adapter device driver will change the
ordering of operations during resource removal to prevent the
exception from occurring.
