Installation information
Prior to installation
The Microsoft Exchange Server agent version 06.31.09.00 or 06.31.09.01 must be installed and running before applying the agent interim fix.
Installing
Installing the Monitoring agent for Microsoft Exchange Server application support
- On the computer system where the IBM Performance Management server is installed, check if the msexch-agent-appsupport-6.3.1.09.01.xml file exists in the <apm-server-home>/fixes directory. If the file does not exist then install the 8.1.3.0-IBM-IPM-Server-IF0004 or later Interim Fix on the IBM Performance Management server. When installing the latest server patch, skip the step for updating applications that contain the Microsoft Exchange agent.
- Download kex_sda_6.3.1.0902.jar file from IBM Fix Central to a temporary directory (e.g. /tmp/if01-patch) on the computer where you installed the Performance Management server.
- Run the following commands on the IBM Performance Management server:
- cd <APM-SERVER-HOME>/ccm
- ./install_app_support.sh -force <path to the kex_sda_6.3.1.0902.jar file>
For example: ./install_app_support.sh -force /tmp/if01-patch/kex_sda_6.3.1.0902.jar
- Perform these steps on the Performance Management console:
- Edit each application that contains the Microsoft Exchange agent and delete the agent from the application
- Save the application.
- Then edit the application a second time and add the agent components back to the application.
Installing the agent interim fix
- Download the patch bundle, 8.1.3.0-IBM-IPM-MSEXCH-AGENT-WIN64-IF0001.zip from Fix Central
- Unpack the patch bundle on each computer system where the agent is already installed.
- Enter the created directory
- Run the apmpatch.bat tool as the same user who installed the agent:
apmpatch.bat <APM-AGENT-HOME>
where the <APM-AGENT-HOME> value specifies the directory where the agent is installed. This value is a required parameter for Windows.
Performing the necessary tasks after installation of the interim fix
A successful installation modifies the Microsoft Exchange Server agent version to 06.31.09.02.
- Ensure that version number 06.31.09.02 is displayed for the Monitoring Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server on the Performance Management window.
- The agent interim fix installation logs are written to the <APM-AGENT-HOME>\INSTALLITM\ directory.
