How to setup email notification in PCM 4.1 SE?
1. Make sure an email can be sent to the notification receiver via command mail from operating system. A test command can be run:
# echo “This is the body of the test mail.” | mail -s “I am a test” <email_address_of the_notification_receiver>.
The receiver should receive this short email.
2. Configure the PCM email configuration file: /opt/pcm/web-portal/perf/conf/perf.conf on the management node.
There are six configurable parameters in the perf.conf file:
//The SMTP server address (required)
//mail port (optional, it can be found out from the SMTP server administrator)
//Requires authentication (true or false)
//user name (required if alert.mail.smtp.auth was set to true)
//user password (required if alert.mail.smtp.auth was set to true)
//The account from which the mail is sent (required)
Set parameter alert.mail.smtp.auth to true if the SMTP server is required. The default value is false. Also set to true if the mail server settings require user authentication.
If the email server requires user authentication(please verify this with the SMTP server administrator), then the SMTP user and password values must be set. The default value is nobody.
3. Restart the PERF service:
# perfadmin stop all
# perfadmin start all
