LSF job pending reason

Troubleshooting

Problem

LSF job pending reason

Resolving The Problem

There are two obscure pending reasons LSF may set for a pending job.
1. New job is waiting for scheduling
2.The schedule of the job is postponed for a while
"New job is waiting for scheduling" pending reason usually is set right after job gets submitted however the scheduler(mbschd) hasn't started received this job information from mbatchd. If this pending reason is presented there for unusual long, you should check if mbschd process is running or busy.
"The schedule of the job is postponed for a while" is set when NEW_JOB_SCHED_DELAY parameter in lsb.queues is not set to zero after job gets into the queue. By default, NEW_JOB_SCHED_DELAY is set to 2 (seconds), that is the job will wait 2 seconds before being scheduled by the scheduler. If this pending reason is not changed for a while, again you should check if mbschd process is running or busy.
