lim startup with sudo will fail unless "default env_reset” is disabled in /etc/sudoers

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

lim startup with sudo will fail unless "default env_reset” is disabled in /etc/sudoers

Resolving the problem

You use sudo to start lim but it fails. "env_reset” is set in /etc/sudoers

#sudo lsadmin limstartup
ls_initdebug: Unable to open file lsf.conf

If "env_reset” is set in /etc/sudoers, sudo will only grant limited permissions.

To solve this:

  1. Run sudo vi sudoers
  2. Dissable "Defaults env_reset" line by changing it to "#Defaultsenv_reset" or "Defaults !env_reset"
