Error description

  • This APAR is for a new SMAPI called System_FCP_EQID_Set which
enables the creation or modification of an FCP EQID on a system.

This APAR adds support for a new Systems Management API (SMAPI),
System_FCP_EQID_Set. This new API enables the creation or
modification of an FCP EQID on a system. This function is
targeted for SSI environments where Live Guest Relocation (LGR)
of virtual servers utilizing FCP attached resources need the
EQID of the FCP be the same on systems being involved in the
    LGR.

Comments

  • This APAR, VM66626, adds a new Systems Management API
(SMAPI) that provides the capability to modify the EQID for
FCP devices available to a z/VM system. This API, called
System_FCP_EQID_Set, enables that FCP EQIDs may be created
or modified on a system. This may be necessary to enable
the LGR of a z/VM guest from one system in an SSI to
    another.
The new System_FCP_EQID_Set API is documented in
z/VM 7.3.0 Systems Management Application Programming
(SC24-6327-73) available at the z/VM web site
    https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zvm/7.3
