Error description

  • DirMaint IVP (APAR VM66175) test DM0430 fails indicating
satellites are logged off in a non-SSI SYSAFFIN system.

This occurs when the IVP is initiated on the DirMaint server. A
similar error will occur for DM0440 for datamove servers that
are running on nodes other than on the node where the DirMaint
    server is running.

In addition, the RUNMODE configuration property is incorrectly
tested on satellite and datamove servers. On those servers the
RUNMODE value is not truncated to a single word and this can
lead to a false failure being reported for tests DA0140 and
    DS0140.

DirMaint IVP (APAR VM66175) test DM0430 fails indicating
satellites are logged off in a non-SSI SYSAFFIN system.

On those servers the
RUNMODE value is not truncated to a single word and this can
lead to a false failure being reported for tests DA0140 and
    DS0140.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem occurs because the IVP is unable to determine the
logged on status of the satellite and datamove servers that
are running on z/VM nodes other than the node where the
DIRMAINT server is running and the nodes are not part of an SSI
configuration. The code is updated for non-SSI environments to
attempt to start the IVP for satellite and datamove servers
that run on nodes other than the node where the DIRMAINT server
is running. If the server is logged off then the IVP will
eventually time out and fail the test indicating that the
affected server did not respond to the IVP request in the
    expected time frame.

In addition, test 0140 used to verify RUNMODE in datamove
and satellite servers is no longer necessary. Tests DA0140
and DS0140 are no longer needed and are removed from the IVP.
    Test DM0140 remains active.

The DirMaint Tailoring and Administration Guide (SC24-6283-03)
    will be updated as follows:

Appendix G. Tests Run by the Automated IVP

    Page 246
The references to tests DA0140 and DS0140 will be removed from
    the header:
        Test 0140 - DM0140

and both DATAMOVE and SATELLITE will be removed from
    environment:
        Environment
           DIRMAINT

    Page 247

The information under resolution will be changed to the
    following:

    Resolution
The DIRMAINT server running in test mode is unable to make
changes to the directory. This mode is not intended for
    normal operation.

To change the mode to operational you need to edit your
CONFIG* DATADVH override file and either change or add
    the RUNMODE= setting to operational:
         RUNMODE= OPERATIONAL

Once you have edited and then saved the file back on the
DIRMAINT server, you will need to issue the following
    command to enable the change:
         DIRM RLDDATA
