  With the PTFs for APARs VM66098 and VM66108 applied, DirMaint
  PURGE processing of extent space efficient (ESE) volumes is
  enhanced. If an ESE volume is detected during DirMaint PURGE
  processing, DirMaint will now issue the new CP RELSPACE command
  to clear the volume prior to issuing the CPFMTXA command. The CP
  RELSPACE command for the ESE volume provides quicker formatting
  and release of the extents. If and error occurs, DirMaint will
  attempt to clear the volume using the CPFMTXA command.
