VM66065: PEVM65926 DIRMAINT NICDEF COMMAND SYNTAX ERRORS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After applying APAR VM65952 the syntax specified for the
  DirMaint NICDEF command no longer works correctly.
  
  According to the command syntax you should be able to specify
  DEVICES, CHPID, and or MACID after you specify the LAN
  information. However, the code for APAR VM65952 now causes a
  syntax error.
  

Local fix

• To get around the problem until the fix is provided you need to
  make sure the options (DEVICES, CHPID, MACID) are specified
  before the LAN keyword and options.

  The code added for the new NICDEF support
  in APAR VM65926 incorrectly identifies the
  MACID, CHPID, and/or DEVICES options as syntax
  errors if they are entered following the LAN
  options specification.
  

Problem conclusion

• The DirMaint DVHGSDEV EXEC was updated to correctly parse any
  options following the LAN option statement on the NICDEF
  command. DirMaint will now correctly allow MACID, CHPID, and
  DEVICES to be specified both before and after the LAN optionas
  described in the NICDEF command documentation.
