  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • HTT001 occurs when a tape device was accidentally used instead
of an OSA on the DEFINE VSWITCH. HCPSWC isn't verifying that
the device is an OSA return from HCPSCNRU.

    ****************************************************************
An HTT001 ABEND can occur if a virtual switch is defined with
a device that is not an OSA in the UPLINK RDEV list.
The HTT001 abend happens when CP attempts to attach the device
(HCPATDEV) to a VSWITCH controller. There are 2 problems.
HCPSWCSE should not attempt to attach a non-OSA device, and
the input (R5) for HCPATDEV should contain 0 or an ATCBK.
    It contains a LANBK.

Problem conclusion

  • The HCPSWADC entry point calls HCPSWCSE to select a VSWITCH
controller. HCPSWADC was changed to call the HCPSWCWN entry
point before attempting controller selection. HCPSWCWN checks
the devices associated with the virtual switch and disqualifies
any that are not appropriate, such as when a device number
specified is for a tape device. This will prevent HCPSWSCE from
trying to attach the tape device. In addition, HCPSWSCE was
changed to ensure that R5 is correct when HCPATDEV is called.
