Error description

  • Message "MSHCPRLE1944I userid: Architecture incompatibility" can
be issued in error following a VMRELOCATE command. In some
cases, this message is issued even when the 2 SSI members
involved in the relocation have compatible architectures.

    ****************************************************************
Incorrect decisions about relocation eligibility may be made in
a Single System Image (SSI) cluster that includes members
running on more than one model of machine. This leads to the
    following message being issued:
      "MSHCPRLE1944I userid: Architecture incompatibility"
In particular, the main problem is that the virtual architecture
compare routine does not handle STFLE strings of different
lengths correctly. This can lead to a guest being ineligible
for a relocation when it should be eligible.

Problem conclusion

  • The virtual architecture compare routine has been corrected.
