Error description

  • The SVMBYSZ value set in HCPERRSR right before call to HCPIOEQR
picks up a value of x'331. This causes resultant IUCV code to
require a much larger buffer than is necessary since this length
value is incorrect for record types other than TYPE 04 05. This
causes the IUCV MESSAGE LENGTH to be incorrect when processing
the resultant SVMREC type records. When a record type 05 is
passed, the value is ALWAYS x'331 bytes, when in fact the true
message length can be found in SVMLRR and the standard message
header length of x'18 value added does not equal x'331.

The value in the SVMLRR field was no longer accurate for all
types of SVMRECs generated by CP.

Problem conclusion

  • The code which produces the SVMRECs was updated to accurately
fill in the value of SVMLRR to show the correct remaining length
    of all SVMREC types.
