Comments
The Query DASD DETAILS command was changed to expand the output if the volume(s) being queried are either encrypted or residing on a solid-state drive. ------------------ Begin Publications changes ------------------ On page 829 of the CP Commands and Utilities Reference manual (SC24-6081-07), under QUERY DASD, a new response is added: Response 13: If you issued a QUERY DASD DETAILS command to a volume that resides on a data encryption drive (DED), and/or a solid-state drive (SSD), the "DEVICE DETAILS" line will include indicators stating the presence of these facilities. The output will look similar to the following: q dasd details 521d 521D CUTYPE = 2107-E8, DEVTYPE = 3390-0A, VOLSER = ERF001, .. CACHE DETAILS: CACHE NVS CFW DFW PINNED CONCOPY -SUBSYSTEM Y Y Y - N N -DEVICE Y - - Y N N DEVICE DETAILS: CCA = 1D, DDC = --, DED = YES, SSD = NO DUPLEX DETAILS: -- CU DETAILS: SSID = 0102, CUNUM = 5200 If QUERY DASD DETAILS is issued against an Emulated Device (EDEV) that includes one or both of these facilities, the "DEVICE DETAILS" line of output will be added to the response, but the CCA/DDC text will not be displayed. q dasd details dead DEAD CUTYPE = 6310-80, DEVTYPE = 9336-10, VOLSER = ERF105, .. BLKS = 8388608 DEVICE DETAILS: DED = YES, SSD = NO Regardless of device type, at least one facility must be present on a volume for the DED and SSD fields to be displayed.
