VM64417: GUEST IO OPERATION FAILS ON E7 CCW

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A problem with VM's CCW translation causes a guest's IO
  operation to fail with a command reject. In the submittor's
  case a zOS guest IO operation fails and zOS issues the following
  error message:

  The GTF trace for zOS, shows a X'E7' CCW failed with unit check
  status and a residual byte count of X'44'.

   HCPFTR, fast translation processing, fails to clear
  IORBK fields related to the E7 CCW while aborting fast
  CCW translation. The result is incorrect CCW translation
  in the long path.
  

Problem conclusion

•  HCPFTR abort processing has been changed to clean up IORBK
  fields related to the fast translation of the E7 CCW.
