(12817) On a QDIO write completion error, EZBIFWCE performs a
conditional ITLOCK obtain and if the lock is not available, it
requests VTAM to perform a redrive. This code was added to
prevent a potential deadlock when the thread was in task mode
with another thread running under the same z/OS TCB. However,
VTAM performs these redrives in SRB mode and we are performing
the same conditional lock logic. There are several write
completion error threads running in SRB mode which are
apparently preventing the task mode threads in the stack from
    running.
(14038) When the stack cleans up an alternate link, it is doing
so without sending a Delete Link LLC signal, so the z/OS stack
is not confirming to the SLD.
(15087) The stack incorrectly serializes the activation of an
interface with the registration/deregistration of staging
buffers. This can lead to an error when activating the inerface.
(15301) The processing of the FIONREAD IOCTL in TCP does not
account for the data in the storage for some connections.
(15302) When a link group has 2 links for the same interface and
that interface becomes inactive, EZBIFSTC only performs
failover/cleanup processing for the first link. Furthermore, it
attempts to failover to the second link even though that link is
also associated with the inactive interface.
(15310) After an interface INOP, EZBSRUTL sends a negative Add
Link response, but sends it over the interface which INOPed
(15451) Netstat DEvlinks /-d shows the interface status as Not
Active in hard-wired configuration when other side not started.

Problem conclusion

  • (12817) Change EZBIFWCE to only perform the conditional lock
obtain when invoked in task mode. If it is running in SRB mode,
it can safely perform and unconditional lock obtain and get
    suspended if necessary.
(14038) Send a Delete Link LLC signal with reason code 00050000
when cleaning up an alternate link. Made other corrections to
LLC signal logic to conform to the latest SLD.
(15087) When trying to register a new staging buffer, if a
CM_ACT is in progress for an interface, then we will suspend the
registration until the CM_ACT completes. If a CM_ACT is in
progress when we attempt to contract the number of staging
    buffers, we will skip contraction.
When a CM_ACT completes for the interface, check to see if a
registration is suspended and resume the registration.
(15301) EZBTCFIO is changed to add the amount of data in the
storage to the value rutrned on the FIONREAD IOCTL.
(15302) Change EZBIFSTC to perform failover/cleanup processing
for both links in this case and change EZBSRUTL to also ensure
the interface is active before attempting failover.
(15310) Correctly validate the link state when selecting a link
over which to send the Add Link response.
(15451) Changed Netstat DEvlinks/-d report for interfaces:
    - Added PFIDStatus field which can have 3 possible values
(Ready, Not Active, Starting). The PFIDStatus value is gets from
    the DIF's ifcstate field.
    - The TRLE field is currently displayed when interface is
active. It changed to be displayed when the PFIDStatus value is
    Staring or Ready.
