Error description
when using TSO SPOC function "audit log" we get the message CSLM130I Unable to connect to the log stream which is invalid for we specified the right auditlog name. Using DFSERA10 with EXITR=CSLULALE and same auditlog we get a valid result accompanied by message IXG513I LOGGER SUBSYSTEM (LOGR) EXIT ENCOUNTERED POSSIBLE LOSS OF DATA DD=SYSUT1 LOGSTREAM=IMSN.OMAUDIT.TRAIL I suppose data loss condition is not correctly taken into account in TSO SPOC. internal investigation at FI revealed that the OM audit trail logstream is defined with STG_DUPLEX(NO) DUPLEXMODE() in the LOGR policy , hence is vulnerable to data loss . According to system logger documentation STG_DUPLEX(NO) is default . So the root cause for the possible logstream gap is laid in INSTALIB(IV3E307T) i.e. skeleton DFSIXSOF which does NOT specify STG_DUPLEX . Concrete question to IBM IMS support is : What is the recommened setting for STG_DUPLEX for the OM audit trail logstream ? The recommendation is to have STG_DUPLEX(YES) specified in both the OM and for CQS. the IVP should be updated to provide this parm

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS V13 IVP users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MSGCSLM130I encountered using IVP SPOC * * when the default IVP settings are used * * to define the OM audit trail logstream. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** When the default IVP settings were used to define the OM audit trail logstream, and the audit trail logstream was accessed by SPOC, the following ISPF message was encountered: CSLM130I Unable to connect to the log stream This message is issued under ISPF when SPOC can not connect to the audit trail logstream specified. This is a normal response to a condition caused by environmental factors where data loss may have occured affecting the logstream. The default IVP settings for the logstream are acceptable for most users, but some will have more stringent requirements for this facility. The logstream definition values for users with more stringent requirements are not well documented, nor is it mentioned that different settings should be considered.
Problem conclusion
GEN: KEYWORDS: *** END IMS KEYWORDS *** The following modules were updated to address this problem: DFSIXRO0: The IVP help file for the OM audit trail logstream definition step has been updated to include notes on the settings that the user should consider. The information included in the help file has also been included in the System Definition Guide under separate cover.
