Error description
An FTP client issues a REIN command, which is intended to reset the session to require a new login. But as a part of this processing, the configured value for the INACTIVE time is zeroed out. This can cause the associated FTP server address space to remain indefinitely, instead of terminating after inactivity for the configured time period. For most instances, this may not be noticed since the remote client's termination of the session will normally cause the server process to end.
Local fix
An FTCHKCMD exit can be written to either reject the REIN command or convert it to a QUIT command.

This can * * cause the associated FTP server address * * space to remain indefinitely. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In the function of processing REIN command, the server FTPDATA statement INACTIVE value is cleared out to zero. This causes that the server address space will wait forever for the next command, instead of terminating after inactivity for the configured time period. +-------------------------------------------------------------+ + Please check our Communications Server for OS/390 homepages + + for common networking tips and fixes.
