Error description

  • A JMS client fails with RC2033 ( 2033 ) MQRC_NO_MSG_AVAILABLE
if more than one selector is used with JMSXGroupID
(in this case the failing MQGET also specifies JMSXGroupSeq=2).
The problem ocurs as CSQMATCH is not being passed the MDE
    details from CSQEMGEF.

The JMS application log throughs the following exception:

JMSServiceException - An error occurred during MQ call:
    "Error browsing the message
    ID:e7c7c1c4c2d6d540c2f0f2f4f0f0f0f0f3f3f5f940404040 from
    queue:///IBM.MQ.0000/A11.TEST"
    MQ Reason Code: unknown.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An MQGET with a selector specifying *
    * GroupId fails with MQRC 2033 when the *
    * target message is held on a SMDS *
    * (shared message data sets). *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
This problem can occur when CSQIPROP does not return the address
of the MQMDE when a message is stored on SMDS. This causes the
message to not be returned when using JMS selectors specifying a
GroupId - as this selector needs to be matched against the
corresponding fields held in the MQMDE of the message.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been changed to ensure the MQMDE is returned by
CSQIPROP for messages stored on SMDS when a selector specifies
    GroupId.
