PM77691: ABEND0C4 DOING VIEW OF FAULT ENTRY USING A MESSAGE AND ABEND CODE EXPLANATION USER EXIT WITH A LONG MESSAGE

APAR status

• Closed as duplicate of another APAR.

Error description

• A user application abend occurs, and the FA real-time analysis
  completes successfully, and creates a fault entry without a
  report due to the DeferredReport FA option being in effect
  (this is the default option under CICS). As such, no Message
  and Abend Code Explanation user exit was run during real-time
  abend processing. However, when later the 'V' line command is
  issued against this fault entry, while using the Message and
  Abend Code Explanation user exit with a long abend ESPR
  explanation, there is a S0C4 at entry point PrtUDATA,
  eventually followed by the ISPF message "No report or dump".
  
  If the 'I' line command is instead used, the interactive
  reanalysis is initially successful until the "ESPR"
  point-and-shoot field is selected from the Interactive
  Reanalysis Report display.  This again causes a S0C4 at entry
  point PrtUDATA and exits the interactive reanalysis report.
