Comments
SuperC now supports new process options ASCII and CPnnnnn for comparing and searching ASCII files, as documented below. The "High Level Assembler for z/OS & z/VM & z/VSE Toolkit Feature User's Guide Release 6" publication (GC26-8710-09) will be updated as follows. --- START OF DOC UPDATES --- In Chapter 6, "Using Enhanced SuperC", the following changes will be inserted in the section "Process Options" to document the ASCII and CPnnnnn options. Table 25 on page 219 is updated to insert the following rows (where Y represents a check mark) in the appropriate alphabetical sequence, indicating that these options apply to all compare and search functions: | ASCII | Translate ASCII input data | Y | Y | Y | Y | Y | | CPnnnnn | Specify EBCDIC code page | Y | Y | Y | Y | Y | The list of option descriptions starting on page 221 is updated to insert the following option descriptions in the appropriate alphabetical sequence: ASCII Process ASCII input files. For LINE or WORD compare and for Search the input data is translated from ASCII to EBCDIC. For BYTE compare, character data in the listing is translated from ASCII to EBCDIC. For FILE compare, this option is accepted but has no effect. Any search or change string given in hexadecimal notation is assumed to be in ASCII, matching the original input data. The ASCII code page is assumed to be ISO 8859-1 (CCSID 819). The EBCDIC code page may be specified using the CPnnnnn option. CPnnnnn Use the specified EBCDIC code page number (up to 5 digits) when translating data using the ASCII option. The default is CP1047. All CECP and Euro Latin-1 code pages are supported, as follows: Default: 1047 (Open Systems Latin-1 EBCDIC) CECP: 37, 273, 277, 278, 280, 284, 285, 297, 500, 871 ECECP (Euro): 1140 to 1149 --- END OF DOC UPDATES ---
