Error description
Abend 0c4 in DFSCMA70 near label OPNDST10. The abend is due to the fact that RPLARG still contains the old CID instead of a NIB pointer. This failure occurs on an IMS system that is the remote end of an MSC link whose partern is in the process of a TKO. At the same time the link terminates and since SONCOS=YES is specified in VTAM, restart recovery is taking place for the Link. We see the following message on the log just before the failure: DFS3222I 12:07:38 UNEXPECTED*STATUS ,LINK = 001,******,RC=00, FDB2= 00,UNBIND ....= 0F,SENSE=00000000. Due to the setting of CTB7INIT during this recovery attempt, the RPLARG field was not properly updated with the NIB address.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All V12 IMS users with MSC and SON/COS * * (SONSCIP=YES) defined. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABENDS0C4 in DFSCM7A0, when RPLARG * * contains a CID instead of pointing * * to a NIB. * * * * This is a forward-fit of APAR PM73190. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** ABENDS0C4 occurs in DFSCM7A0 near label OPNDST10. The abend is due to the fact that RPLARG still contains the old CID instead of a NIB pointer. SON/COS processing depends on CTB7INIT being off so that the RPL and NIB can be initialized. With CTB7INIT not reset during link cleanup, RPLARG is not initialized to point to the NIB and instead contains the CID from the previous session. This leads to the abend when RPLARG is accessed. Note: To activate SON/COS, SONSCIP=YES is specified in VTAM and OPTIONS=(ASR) is specified on the MSPLINK macro for IMS.
Problem conclusion
GEN: POSTREQ PM80478 KEYWORDS: *** END IMS KEYWORDS *** To prevent the abend, CTB7INIT will be reset during link cleanup. DFSCM7Z0 has been modified to check CTBJCHGA to determine if a CHANGE ENDAFFNF call is in progress. DFSCM7A0 has been modified to check CLBV2RSP to detect that the Logon exit has been driven due to a REQSESS command and will issue an Opndst. DFSCM7V0 has been modified to not use CTB7INIT to determine if subroutine CM7VVGR needs to be called to handle CHANGE ENDAFFNF processing. CTBJCHGA will be used to detect if a CHANGE ENDAFFNF call has been made and SCDC1SDC will be used to ensure that a /STA DC has been issued before calling subroutine CM7VVGR.
